Whose bouquet are you supposed to throw?

I always thought it was the brides but my friend just got married and threw her maid of honors!

Whose bouquet are you supposed to throw?
It is supposed to be your own, but a lot of brides these days want to keep their bouquet and have it preserved. If you are one of those people, then you can have your florist make a smaller version of your bouquet, or an extra attendant bouquet to throw.

I did hear about a "breakaway" bridal bouquet. The bride's bouquet was actually 3-4 smaller bouquets tied with a ribbon. She removed the ribbon before she threw the bouquet, so when she tossed it in the air, it broke apart into the different bouquets. That way, several girls got to "catch the bouquet". I thought it was a cute idea, especially if you have a lot of attendants and/or single girls at the wedding.
Reply:the bride is supposed to throw her own or have the florist do a smaller toss bouquet not her maid of honor that's supposed to be her to do with as she likes it sounds like your friend was being a little selfish, 'wanting to keep her own and not pay anymore for a toss i understand it but it still seems rude to me
Reply:Yes.... well, at my friends wedding, her bouquet was so big and heavy that it was a throwing hazard. It must have weighed 15 pounds... so she threw mine instead. The person who caught it was HANDED her bouquet. They got to keep mine, too. I didn't want it.

Some florist do a tossing bouquet. My other friend had her bouquet made up of 6 tossing bouquets... it was really pretty. She had 500 people at her wedding. She untied three ribbons, then tossed the whole lot, which broke up into six smaller bouquets so more girls would get one.
Reply:when you order your flowers, you have a smaller boquet that is used for the tossing! the boquets for your girls are theirs for keepsakes, and your big boquet is yours also.
Reply:Usually the florist will give you a complimentary "tossing" bouquet.

If your florist doesn't automatically offer that then ask about it. That is how most people do it...♥
Reply:If your flowers are being made have them make you a "toss bouquet" if you are haveing real flowers ask your designer to make you a "toss bouquet". Congrats to you!
Reply:the bride's bouquet is usually the biggest, so they usually throw a smaller one made especially for throwing.
Reply:I agree with April, the florist makes up a dummy bouquet, so you can save your bouquet
Reply:Yeah, we had a special throwing bouquet.
Reply:it's a extra bouquet ask your florist
