How do you take care of easter bouquet mums?
I let mine die and go dormant over the summer. In the fall plant them in your garden after trimming off all the dead stalks.

Works for me.I have some which are 4 yrs. old and they bloom every fall.
Reply:In a temperate area, just put them in the ground. They will not rebloom this year and they may go dormant, since they were expecting too, but by next year they should rise in the spring and bloom in the fall as they naturally would. Some will stay green all summer and re-bloom in fall before going dormant over the winter. When they are dormant, let the dead stems stand until the new rosette forms at the base or the plant will rot or freeze - the plant uses sugars stored in the stems over the winter as antifreeze and the cut stems can let water into the crowns of the plants until the new growth forms and the old stem bases are sealed.
